From Hormones to Health Hacks: 10 FemTech Innovators We're Watching

The FemTech space is in take-off and we’re here for it. In recent years, there’s been a wave of incredible innovation focused on women’s health, hormones and wellbeing. From at-home testing kits to neuroscience-based solutions, the world is finally starting to invest in what half the population needs: smart, science-backed tools that help us live better, healthier, more productive lives.

At Phase, we sit at the intersection of productivity and FemTech. We’re building the only productivity platform designed specifically for women, using cycle-based insights to help them work with their hormones instead of against them. Naturally, we’re obsessed with what’s happening across the FemTech landscape. Not only do many of these companies offer exciting possibilities for future partnerships, they’re also building tools we think our community should know about.

So if you’re curious about what’s next in the world of women’s health, wellness, and performance, read on. These are the FemTech companies we’re watching closely.

The FemTech Industry Is Booming

FemTech (female technology) refers to diagnostic tools, products, services, wearables, and software that focus on women’s health. This includes everything from menstrual health and fertility to menopause, pelvic health, hormonal optimization, and beyond.

According to FemTechWorld, global investment in FemTech reached $2.6 billion in 2024. And although the sector still receives a fraction of overall healthtech funding, it’s growing — and fast. With the rise of personalized healthcare and a growing cultural interest in hormonal wellness, FemTech is entering a new phase of mainstream relevance.

We believe that as more women learn about the power of understanding their cycle, hormone health, and individual biology, demand will continue to rise. This is more than a market trend: it’s a shift in how women relate to their bodies and how tech can support them. These companies are leading that shift.

1. Samphire Neuroscience (formerly Nettle)

Samphire Neuroscience is a trailblazer in the cognitive side of women’s health. Originally known as Nettle, the company focuses on using neurotechnology to support cognitive performance throughout the menstrual cycle.

Led by Emilė Radytė, a leading neuroscientist, Samphire is creating wearable brain stimulation devices designed specifically for women’s biology.

Their flagship product delivers gentle electrical stimulation to help mitigate cognitive symptoms like brain fog and mood dips; common issues many women experience during certain phases of their cycle. What’s next? Clinical trials, further development of their wearable device, and potential partnerships across the wellness and productivity landscape.  They have also recently been accepted into the NHS Innovation Accelerator for 2025 - 2028 - one of the best innovation programs in global healthcare.

2. Strawberry Health

Strawberry Health is bringing hormone testing into the home.  This US-based startup offers convenient at-home blood testing kits that give women actionable insights into their hormonal health.

Founded by Svetlana Kazantseva and Svetlana Grinchenko, Strawberry’s mission is to empower women with accessible, personalized health data. Their tests cover everything from estrogen and progesterone to thyroid and cortisol, giving users a fuller picture of their hormonal ecosystem.

Strawberry’s roadmap includes expanding their test range, integrating results with digital health platforms, and refining recommendations based on cycle phases.  Competitors to Strawberry would include Mira (which offers at-home results, following a urine test).

At-home hormone testing is a natural fit with tools like Phase, which help translate hormone insights into smarter work and wellness decisions.

3.Level Zero Health

Also focused on real-time hormone monitoring, Level Zero Health takes things one stage further. They have just closed one of the biggest ever pre-seed rounds for FemTech at £5.5 million.  Built by seasoned wearables experts, Ula Rustamova and Irene Jia, they are not messing around.

Their focus is on clinical-grade hormone tracking and interventions to support high-performing women in managing stress, recovery, and hormonal resilience.

We’re watching closely as they prepare for a larger launch. For women balancing ambition and wellbeing, Level Zero Health is one to keep on your radar.

4. Ovum

A FemTech Lab alum, Ovum is on a mission to redefine fertility care. They’re developing an over-the-counter fertility treatment that mimics the benefits of IVF without the high cost or invasive procedures.

Ovum is led by founder Jenny Wordsworth, who following her own reproductive journey, teamed up with leading fertility doctors Dr Katherine Joseph and Dr Phoebe Howells, to set a new standard in reproductive wellness.

a reproductive biologist and expert in women's health. Her work focuses on making fertility science more accessible and rooted in biology, not just tech.

Currently expanding into more retail locations (since 2024 you can find them in Sainsbury’s), and recently B-Corp accredited, this is a value - led business designed for the mass market. .

5. Unfabled

Unfabled is an e-commerce platform and community centered around menstrual health, hormonal wellbeing, and holistic care. Think of it as a curated marketplace for cycle-supportive products — from supplements and skincare to period care and stress relief.

Founded by Hannah Samano, Unfabled combines content, commerce, and community to help women navigate their hormonal journeys.

Their site is already a go-to for many women looking to build a hormone-friendly lifestyle. Future plans include deeper personalization, content partnerships, and education resources that align perfectly with the values we hold dear at Phase.

6. Jack Fertility

Jack Fertility, another standout (like Phase) from FemTech Lab, brings male fertility into the conversation -  an essential piece of the fertility puzzle that often gets overlooked.

Founded by Lily Elsner and Nick Shipley, the company offers a discreet at-home sperm test that gives results in under 48 hours. The goal is to remove stigma and make male reproductive health more accessible.

As conversations around fertility become more inclusive and balanced, we see Jack Fertility playing a crucial role in supporting partnerships, education, and whole-person care.

7. Ditto Supplements

Ditto is redefining supplements through personalization. Their platform creates custom supplement packs based on an individual’s symptoms, lifestyle, and hormonal needs.

Founded by nutritional scientist, Alice van der Schoot, and supported by leading medical researchers like Dr Anita Mitra (Gynae Geek), their angle is their blend of science-backed formulations and a deeply personalized experience. Think: daily packs tailored to where you are in your cycle, your stress levels, sleep, and more.

We love the direction Ditto is heading, particularly their commitment to making hormone-supportive nutrition simple, approachable, and effective, and their social channels are also incredibly informative!

8. Daye

Daye has been a standout in the FemTech world for years, but their latest development is especially exciting. Their new study, as reported by FemTech Insider, confirms that Daye’s diagnostic tampon is as accurate as traditional cervical screening methods.

Led by founder Valentina Milanova, Daye continues to push boundaries in menstrual and vaginal health. Their diagnostic tampon has the potential to radically increase screening access and early detection for conditions like HPV and cervical cancer.

Daye’s future is clearly focused on expanding diagnostic capabilities and normalizing gynecological health tools that are comfortable, accessible, and effective. Big yes from us.

9. Baby Biome

Baby Biome’s mission is to ensure every baby benefits from the health-boosting bacteria found in breast milk - regardless of how they're fed.  Their founding team of 3 female scientists are passionate about translating cutting-edge research on breastmilk into solutions that improve infant health.  Their expertise is at the forefront of microbiome science and we collaborate with the renowned UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.

They are developing products to improve the ability to store breastmilk in a way that reserves it’s valuable properties, as well as offering a supplement for all babies, ensuring that babies that don’t receive breastmilk for whatever reason, are still able to benefit from the important bacteria present within it.

10. My Bliss

Finally, the list wouldn’t be complete without a shout-our to our friend, supporter and fearless entrepreneur, Mo Carrier, from MyBliss.  She has developed a condom built with female needs in mind - imagine that!  Their ultra-thin, super strong condoms are designed with years of research into what women truly want.

They provide essential protection against unplanned pregnancies, STIs, and vaginal and urinary infections caused by bacteria introduced during penetrative sex. The packaging is great, but more importantly, she’s putting the perspective back in the female corner - just what we like to see.   Keep an eye on this brand as it continues to make its way into more retailers near you!

Final Thoughts: A Future Built for Women
